MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - Kristy Brandolini, a member of the Mount
Vernon Nazarene University women’s soccer team, has been
selected as the National Christian College Athletic Association
Player of the Week for her performance in matches during the week
of September 13-19.
Brandolini, a freshman forward from Twinsburg, Ohio, led the Lady Cougars to a 2-0-0 record for the week as she recorded four goals and two assists. In a 4-0 non-conference win over Geneva (Pa.) College, the former Twinsburg High School standout recorded her first career hat trick with three goals and one assist. Then, in a 5-0 American Mideast Conference South Division victory over Shawnee State University, she added one goal and one assist. On the season, Brandolini, who has started all eight matches, ranks second on the team with six goals and 19 points. She also leads MVNU with seven assists. The Lady Cougars, who are currently 5-3-0 overall and 1-0-0 in AMC South Division play, will return to action on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. when the team will host Madonna (Mich.) University in a non-conference match.
