MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - Allison Klusmann, a member of the Mount
Vernon Nazarene University women’s volleyball team, has been
selected as the American Mideast Conference and NAIA Region IX
Setter of the Week for her performance in matches played from
October 3-9.
Klusmann, a 5-foot-8 freshman setter from Tallmadge, Ohio, led the Lady Cougars to a 2-0 record for the week as she averaged 13.14 assists, 1.71 digs, and 1.00 blocks per game. In a sweep of Ohio Dominican University, the former Tallmadge High School star handed out 39 assists to go with five digs and two blocks. Then, Klusmann closed out the week with 53 assists, seven digs, and a career-high five blocks in a win at Tiffin University. On the season, Klusmann has played in 109 of the Lady Cougars’ 110 games. She has recorded 56 kills, 16 aces, 53 blocks, and 242 digs. She is also the first MVNU freshman to record 1,000 assists in a season and she currently has 1,214. MVNU, which is ranked 24th in the latest NAIA national poll, is currently 22-9 overall and 7-3 in the AMC South Division. The Lady Cougars will return to action on Thursday when the team will host Malone College in an important AMC South Division match at 7:00 p.m. The Lady Pioneers defeated MVNU in five games earlier this season at Malone.
