The former Mason High School standout was 11-for-22 at the plate with three doubles, one home run, five RBI, and eight runs scored. He also walked seven times for a .621 on-base percentage.

In a four-game series at Shawnee State University, Peters was 5-for-11 with two RBI and four runs scored. His best game of the series came in the third game, which MVNU won 10-3, as he went 2-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBI.

In a four-game series with the University of Rio Grande, who was receiving votes in the NAIA national poll, Peters went 6-for-11 with three RBI, four runs scored, three doubles, and one home run. His best game came in the opener as he went 4-for-4 with a school-record tying three doubles and his second home run of the year to go with two RBI and three runs scored.

On the season, Peters is batting .398 with eight doubles, two triples, two home runs, 20 RBI, and a team-high 41 runs scored. He has committed just 10 errors at shortstop in 137 fielding chances, and he has started 38 of the team’s 39 games.

MVNU is currently 26-13 overall. The Cougars swept a doubleheader from Seton Hill (Pa.) University on Thursday to advance to the four-team NAIA Region IX Tournament at Ohio Dominican University next Wednesday. The team’s first-round opponent and game time has yet to be determined.
