MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - Amanda Stevens, a member of the Mount Vernon
Nazarene University women's volleyball team, has been selected as
the National Christian College Athletic Association Player of the
Week for her performance during the week of September 8-14.
Stevens, a 6-foot middle hitter from Mount Vernon, Ohio, led the Lady Cougars to a 3-0 record for the week as MVNU swept matches against Tiffin University, Malone College, and Houghton (N.Y.) College. The former All-Ohioan at Centerburg High School averaged 3.44 kills and 4.00 digs per game for the week to go with a .329 attack percentage. For the season, Stevens leads the Lady Cougars with 101 digs and 109 kills. She is averaging 3.30 kills, 3.06 digs, and .79 blocks per game. She has also posted a .328 attack percentage, a .948 serving percentage, and a .921 serve reception percentage. MVNU is currently 11-2 overall and 2-1 in the American Mideast Conference South Division. The Lady Cougars will return to action on Friday when they will host Notre Dame College and Roberts Wesleyan (N.Y.) College at 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. respectively.
