MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - Katey Percival, a member of the Mount Vernon
Nazarene University women's volleyball team, has been selected as
the American Mideast Conference and NAIA Region IX Setter of the
Week for her performances during the week of August 31-September
6.
Percival, a 5-foot-9 junior from Elyria, Ohio, led the Lady Cougars to a 3-0 record for the week as MVNU swept non-conference matches from Notre Dame College, Mountain State (W.Va.) University, and Ohio State University-Newark. The former All-Ohioan at Amherst Steele High School averaged 11.78 assists per game while also compiling 13 kills, six aces, and 22 digs. For the season, Percival is among the AMC leaders in assists per game with her average of 11.26. She has also compiled nine blocks, 13 aces, 36 kills, and a team-high 70 digs. The Lady Cougars are currently 8-1 overall. MVNU will return to action on Thursday when the team will host Tiffin University at 7:00 p.m. in the American Mideast Conference South Division opener for both teams.
