Photo of Stephen Reynard MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - Stephen Reynard, a member of the Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's soccer team, has been selected as the American Mideast Conference, NAIA Region IX, and National Christian College Athletic Association Player of the Week for his performance in matches played during the week of October 26-November 1.

Reynard, a freshman midfielder from Hendersonville, Tennessee, led the Cougars to a pair of victories to close out the regular season. In a 5-2 win at Shawnee State University, the former Hendersonville High School standout scored the first goal of his career and registered three assists. Then, in a 3-0 home victory against Walsh University, Reynard scored another goal and added two more assists. For the week, he had a part in seven of the team's eight goals.

Reynard, who had not scored a goal or registered an assist all season prior to last week, now has two goals and is tied for the team lead with five assists. He has played in 15 of the team's 17 matches and made nine starts.

MVNU is currently 13-4-1 overall and awaits word as to who the team will play in the NCCAA East Region Tournament next week. The Cougars also finished the regular season unbeaten at home for the first time ever with a 10-0-1 record.
