NewsHilliard Darby Soccer Player Commits to MVNUwritten by Dave Parsons, Sports Information Director
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women’s
soccer team has landed another key recruit for the 2004 season
with the addition of Molly Dible.
Dible, a midfielder from Hilliard, Ohio, was a two-year varsity letterwinner at Hilliard Darby High School after playing her sophomore year at Grove City High School. As a senior, Dible started 12 of the 15 matches in which she played and recorded one assist. She was a two-time recipient of a Hilliard Darby Academic Athlete Award. "I am very excited about Molly joining the Lady Cougars,” said MVNU head coach Jonathan Meade. "She is a hard worker and will compete for time as a freshman in the midfield. She is the type of player that just goes out and gets the job done that you ask her to do. I look forward to her bringing that attitude to our team next fall.” "MVNU and Molly are a great fit,” Meade added. "MVNU wants students who take pride in doing well not just athletically but also in their academic pursuits and spiritual life. Molly is just that type of person.” In addition to playing soccer, Dible has been active in German Club, Art Club, Clay Cats, Ski Club, and the Gifted and Talented program. She was also involved in the summer honors program at Shawnee State University. "There are several reasons why I chose MVNU,” said Dible of her college choice. "The emphasis on Christianity was important to me, and I really like the friendly people that make up the campus. MVNU has an excellent education department, and the women’s soccer program has done well.” "Coach Meade was the reason I heard about MVNU,” Dible added. "I was at a team camp he was working and I really enjoyed his coaching style. Then, the next thing you know, I am at MVNU on a visit and I loved everything about it.” MVNU finished the 2003 season with a 20-3-1 overall record and won the National Christian College Athletic Association national title in only the program’s fourth season as a varsity sport. The Lady Cougars also captured the American Mideast Conference South Division title.
