NewsMVNU's Dunn Earns NCCAA Player of the Week Honors Againwritten by Dave Parsons, Sports Information Director
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - Andy Dunn, a member of the Mount Vernon
Nazarene University men's basketball team, was recently selected
as the National Christian College Athletic Association Player of
the Week for his performance during the week of February 9-15.
This is the fourth time this season that Dunn has earned this
honor.
Dunn, a 6-foot-1 senior guard from Hamilton, Ohio, led the Cougars to a 3-0 record for the week as he averaged 25.0 points per game while going 17-for-29 from three-point range (58.6 percent) and making all 12 of his free throw attempts. The former Lakota West High School standout began the week with 25 points and five three-pointers in a 66-60 win at Tiffin University. He added 27 points and was 7-for-12 from three-point range in a 76-74 overtime win at Shawnee State University. Then, he closed out the week with 23 points and five more treys in a 91-66 victory over Urbana University. For the season, Dunn leads MVNU in scoring at 20.7 points per game. He leads all NAIA Division II players with 126 three-pointers made, and he ranks fourth in free throw percentage at 92.3 percent (96-for-104). He has also recorded 60 assists, 33 rebounds, and 27 steals. The Cougars are currently 20-10 overall and 12-5 in the American Mideast Conference South Division. MVNU will host Malone College at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday night in the final regular-season game for both teams.
