written by Dave Parsons, Sports Information Director

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - Kristi Tuck, a member of the Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's soccer team, has been selected as the American Mideast Conference Defender of the Week for her performance during the week of September 30-October 6. This is the second time this season that Tuck has received this award as she was also honored for her play during the week of September 2-8.

Tuck, a 5-foot-9 junior goalkeeper from Hollsopple, Pennsylvania, led the Lady Cougars to a 2-0 AMC South Division victory over Cedarville University during the week as she stopped three shots on goal in posting her second straight conference shutout.

For the season, the former Johnstown Christian High School product has started all 11 of MVNU's matches in goal and allowed just 13 goals for a 1.25 goals against average. Tuck has stopped 41 shots and helped the team post four shutouts.

The Lady Cougars are currently 9-2-0 overall and 2-0-0 in the AMC South. The team will return to action on Saturday when MVNU will host perennial power Indiana Wesleyan University in a non-conference match at 3:00 p.m.
