NewsMVNU's Harding Named to Verizon All-District Teamwritten by Dave Parsons, Sports Information Director MOUNT
VERNON, Ohio - Jessica Harding, a member of the Mount Vernon
Nazarene University women's volleyball team, was recently selected
to the Verizon Academic All-District IV College Division First
Team.
Harding, a junior outside hitter from New Philadelphia, Ohio, has played in 153 of the Lady Cougars' 167 games this season. The former All-Ohioan at Garaway High School has compiled 423 kills, 95 blocks, and 77 digs. In the classroom, Harding has compiled a 3.813 grade point average so far. The Integrated Math Education major has been named to the MVNU Dean's List all five semesters. The Lady Cougars are currently 34-11 overall. MVNU will travel to Daemen (N.Y.) College for the American Mideast Conference Tournament that begins on Friday. The Lady Cougars will take on the winner of the match between Cedarville University and Seton Hill (Pa.) University at 5:00 p.m. The Verizon Academic All-District IV College Division Teams are selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America. Eligible student-athletes must have a 3.20 grade point average and be at least in their sophomore year. The District IV College Division is made up NCAA Division II and III and NAIA schools in Alabama, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Tennessee.
