NewsMVNU's Dunn Earns Two Player of the Week Honorswritten by Dave Parsons, Sports Information Director
Dunn, a 6-foot-1 junior guard from Hamilton, Ohio, led the Cougars to a 3-0 record for the week as he averaged 22.7 points, 5.0 assists, and 2.0 rebounds per game. The former Lakota West High School standout nailed 63.3 percent of his shots from beyond the arc (19-of-30) and 57.5 percent of his field goal attempts overall (23-of-40). Dunn began the week with 21 points on 7-of-9 shooting from three-point land as he led MVNU to a 90-78 road win at Notre Dame College. He followed that up with a career-high 25 points and six treys in a 101-96 victory over Bethel (Ind.) College in the first round of the Defiance College Tip-off Tournament. Then, he closed out the week with 22 points (including six three-pointers) and a career-high nine assists against Defiance as the Cougars downed the host Yellow Jackets 97-86 to win the tournament. For his efforts, Dunn was selected as the tournament's Most Valuable Player. For the season, Dunn is second on the team in scoring at 15.3 points per game. He also leads the team with 33 assists and has nailed 30-of-50 three-point attempts (60 percent) in the first seven games. MVNU is currently 7-0 this year, and the Cougars have won 11 straight games dating back to last season. The team will return to action on Tuesday when MVNU will host Knox County rival Kenyon College in a non-conference game at 7:30 p.m.
