Two Lady Cougars Earn NCCAA All-American Honors

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - Katey Percival and Jessica Harding, two members of the Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's volleyball team, were recently honored by the National Christian College Athletic Association when the NCCAA All-American and Academic All-American Teams were released.

Percival, a sophomore setter from Elyria, Ohio, was selected to the NCCAA All-American Second Team for her performance this season that includes 1,733 assists - the third-highest single-season total in school history. The former All-Ohioan at Amherst Steele High School has also recorded 109 kills, 73 blocks, 37 aces, and 372 digs.

Harding, a junior outside hitter from New Philadelphia, Ohio, was named to the NCCAA Academic All-American Team. An Integrated Math Education major, Harding has compiled a 3.813 grade point average. The former All-Ohioan at Garaway High School has also tallied 423 kills, 95 blocks, four aces, and 77 digs.

MVNU, which finished as the runner-up at the 10-team NCCAA National Tournament, finished the regular season with a 34-11 overall record and a 12-4 American Mideast Conference South Division mark. The Lady Cougars will return to action next Friday when the team will compete in the AMC Tournament to be hosted by the AMC North Division champion who has yet to be determined.
