MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - The Mount Vernon Nazarene University Sports Information Department was recently recognized by the NAIA-Sports Information Directors Association as six of MVNU's media guides were honored as being among the best in the nation at the annual NAIA-SIDA meeting in Canton, Ohio.

The Lady Cougars' softball media guide was the top finisher as it ranked second in its category. The cover, which was designed by Carrie Crouch, MVNU's Director of Communications, was also selected as the Best Cover in that category.

The MVNU men's golf media guide finished third in the Individual Sport category, while the MVNU men's soccer media guide was fifth in its category. The Cougars' baseball media guide was sixth, and the MVNU women's basketball and volleyball media guides were each ninth in their respective categories.

"I was very pleased with the way that our publications fared in these contests," said Dave Parsons, MVNU's Sports Information Director, who is responsible for overseeing the production of all eight of the institution's media guides. "We have worked really hard over the past couple of years to really improve the quality of the media guides that we produce."

"I am also very thankful for the creative help that Carrie (Crouch) and Carlos (Serrao, MVNU's Webmaster) have provided over the past couple of years," Parsons added. "Their talents and design expertise have helped to take the covers of our media guides to a much higher level."
