NewsMVNU's Moser Named NCCAA Player of the Weekwritten by Dave Parsons, Sports Information Director
Moser, a 6-foot-3 senior forward from Wadsworth, Ohio, averaged 16.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game while shooting 50 percent from both the field (12-of-24) and the three-point arc (8-of-16) as the Cougars posted a 1-1 record for the week. Moser began the week with 11 points and eight rebounds in a 99-88 loss at Shawnee State University, ranked 14th in NAIA Division II at the time. The former All-Ohioan at Wadsworth High School then closed out the week with a career-high 22 points, five rebounds, four steals, and two assists in an 86-79 win over Malone College. In that game, Moser was 8-of-12 from the field with five treys. For the season, Moser is averaging 11.5 points and 5.2 rebounds per game while starting all 17 contests for MVNU. He is the team leader with 35 steals, and he ranks second on the squad with 66 assists. He is shooting 47.1 percent from the field (73-of-155), 35 percent from three-point range (28-of-80), and 75.9 percent at the free throw line (22-of-29). The Cougars are currently 12-5 overall and 1-4 in the American Mideast Conference South Division. MVNU will return to action on Saturday when the team will host Urbana University in a conference game at 7:30 p.m.
