NewsMVNU's Arnett Earns NCCAA Weekly Honor Againwritten by Dave Parsons, Sports Information Director
Arnett, a 6-1 freshman center from Miamisburg, Ohio, was recognized for her performance during the week of December 30-January 5 as she averaged 19.5 points and 6.5 rebounds while shooting 68.2 percent from the field (15-of-22) as the Lady Cougars won both of their games. The former Miamisburg High School standout began the week with 24 points and five rebounds as MVNU rallied from a 10-point second-half deficit to down Malone College 80-78. Arnett was 11-of-13 from the field in the game. Then, she closed out the week with 15 points, eight rebounds, one blocked shot, and one steal as the Lady Cougars ran past the University of Michigan-Dearborn 85-35. For the season, Arnett is averaging 10.9 points and 7.5 rebounds per game while starting 14 of the team's 16 games. She is shooting 45.3 percent from the field (58-of-128) and 66.7 percent from the free throw line (58-of-87). She leads the team with 13 blocked shots, and she has also recorded eight assists and eight steals. MVNU is currently 8-8 overall and 2-4 in the American Mideast Conference South Division. The Lady Cougars will return to action on Saturday when the team will host Rochester (Mich.) College in a non-conference game at 2:00 p.m.
