NewsThree Lady Cougars Receive NCCAA East Region Honorswritten by Dave Parsons, Sports Information Director MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - Three members of the Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's basketball team were honored when the National Christian College Athletic Association East Region Teams were announced on Tuesday.
Susan Adams, a junior guard/forward from Cardington, Ohio, was named to the NCCAA East Region Second Team after leading the Lady Cougars in scoring (16.5 points per game) and rebounding (8.3 rebounds per game) this season. The former Cardington-Lincoln High School star also compiled 79 assists, 14 blocked shots, and a team-high 51 steals. Jenni Davis, a senior guard from Cardington, Ohio, was an NCCAA East Region Honorable Mention pick after averaging 11.4 points per game and dishing out a team-high 104 assists. The former Cardington-Lincoln High School standout also led MVNU with 52 three-pointers made while recording 95 rebounds and 34 steals. Erin Arnett, a freshman center from Miamisburg, Ohio, joined Davis as an NCCAA East Region Honorable Mention selection after contributing 8.1 points and 6.8 rebounds per game in her first collegiate season. The former Miamisburg High School product also led the team with 21 blocked shots to go with 17 assists and 18 steals. The Lady Cougars finished the 2002-2003 campaign with a 10-19 overall record.
