NewsMVNU's Davis Named to Verizon All-District Teamwritten by Dave Parsons, Sports Information Director
Davis, a senior guard from Cardington, Ohio, averaged 11.4 points and 3.3 rebounds per game for the Lady Cougars (10-19) this season. The former Cardington-Lincoln High School standout led the team with 104 assists and 52 three-pointers made. She also shot 74.6 percent from the free throw line (94-of-126) and recorded 34 steals. An Integrated Language Arts major, Davis has compiled an impressive 3.89 grade point average in the classroom. She was named to the NAIA Division II and National Christian College Athletic Association All-America Scholar-Athlete Teams last year, and has been nominated for those teams again this season. She has also been on the MVNU Dean's List all seven semesters. In addition to playing basketball, Davis has also been a four-year member of the Lady Cougars' softball team. The Verizon Academic All-District IV Teams consist of NAIA and NCAA Division II and III players from Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Alabama. Players must have at least a 3.20 grade point average and be a sophomore, junior, or senior. The teams are selected by the sports information directors in District IV.
