MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - Heather Clark, a member of the Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's fastpitch softball team was recently selected as the National Christian College Athletic Association Player of the Week for her efforts during the week of April 21-27.

Clark, a freshman pitcher from Oxford, Ohio, led the Lady Cougars to two victories during the week as she posted a 1.00 earned run average. She began the week by allowing just four hits, one run, and three walks with three strikeouts in a 2-1 victory over American Mideast Conference South Division-leading Ohio Dominican University. Then, she closed out the week with a 3-2 win over Tiffin University as she allowed just six hits, two runs, and two walks with three strikeouts.

MVNU has posted a 24-16 record overall and is third in the AMC Central Division with an 11-5 mark. The Lady Cougars will return to action with an AMC Central Division doubleheader at Walsh University on Tuesday beginning at 3:00 p.m.
