Four senior members of the Mount Vernon Nazarene College women's volleyball team will be honored prior to the team's final regular-season home match on Monday at 7:00 p.m against Tiffin University.
Deanna Stayman, Andrea Rudd, Amanda Triplett, and Darcee Hoberg have helped the Lady Cougars post a 168-28 overall record, win three straight conference titles, and compete in the National Christian College Athletic Association National Tournament every year during their careers. All four players have their names in the MVNC record book in several categories.
Stayman, a defensive specialist from Greencastle, Pennsylvania, leads the team in games played (114), serve attempts (689), and aces (71) this season. The former Shalom Christian Academy standout has also recorded 327 digs. For her career, Stayman ranks fifth in school history in serve attempts (2,441), ninth in digs (1,325), and ninth in serve reception attempts (1,868). She also holds the school record for most serve attempts in a season with 913 in 2000.
Rudd, a setter from Wilmington, Ohio, is the team leader in assists with 780. The former All-Ohioan at Wilmington High School has also compiled 76 kills, 52 blocks, 18 aces, and 104 digs. For her career, Rudd ranks second in school history in assists (3,855). She also holds the school record for most assists in a season (1,970) and most assists in a match (79) - both set during the 2000 season.
Triplett, an outside hitter from Rockford, Ohio, leads the team with a .346 attack percentage. The former All-Ohioan at Parkway High School has also posted 325 kills, 49 blocks, 25 assists, 42 aces, and 317 digs. For her career, Triplett ranks fourth in school history in kills (1,732), eighth in digs (1,369), and eighth in aces (160). She also holds the record for kills in a match (32) and a share of the record for aces in a match (7).
Hoberg, an outside hitter from Coshocton, Ohio, leads the team in kills (360) and digs (320). The former All-Ohioan at River View High School has also registered 36 blocks and 50 aces this year. For her career, Hoberg ranks third in school history in kills (1,735), fourth in digs (1,738), fifth in serve reception attempts (2,073), and fifth in aces (170). She also holds a share of the record for most aces in a match (7).
