"Six Lady Cougars Named to NCCAA All-Region Team"

Six members of the Mount Vernon Nazarene College women's soccer team were recently honored when the National Christian College Athletic Association East Region Team was announced.
Lisa Hinman, a sophomore forward from Syracuse, New York, led the way as she earned All-Region honors for the second straight year. The former All-State player from Faith Heritage School has recorded 11 goals and a team-high 10 assists this season. She also leads the team with 32 total points.
Bethany Seiffert, a junior midfielder from Lewis Center, Ohio, was named to the All-Region Team after compiling nine goals, six assists, and 24 total points. The former Olentangy High School standout transferred to MVNC this season from Indiana Wesleyan University.
Cheryl Balogh, a sophomore midfielder from Lima, Ohio, joined Hinman on the All-Region Team for the second straight year. The former Elida High School star recorded five goals, seven assists, and 17 total points this year.
Catherine Hess, a freshman forward from Hillsboro, Ohio, led the Lady Cougars with 12 goals as she was named to the All-Region Team. The former All-State player at Hillsboro High School also recorded six assists and 30 total points.
Sheri Shuler, a senior defender from Gahanna, Ohio, was named to the All-Region Team after anchoring the MVNC defense that has posted six shutouts. The former Gahanna-Lincoln High School product has also registered one assist.
Krista Reynolds, a senior midfielder from Gahanna, Ohio, was named to the All-Region Team after compiling four goals and four assists. The Gahanna-Lincoln High School graduate has also posted 12 total points.
MVNC is currently 13-8 overall. The Lady Cougars, who won the NCCAA East Region title, are the seventh seed at the NCCAA National Tournament and will face second-seeded Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) University (18-4) at 2:30 p.m. on Friday in Kissimmee, Florida.
