"MVNC Lands Five Men's Soccer Players on NCCAA Region Team"

The Mount Vernon Nazarene College men's soccer team landed five players on the National Christian College Athletic Association East Region Team when the awards were announced recently.
Preston Elifritz, a senior forward from Fletcher, Ohio, led the way as he was named to the All-Region Team for the second straight year. The former Miami East High School star led the Cougars with 20 goals, nine assists, and 49 total points this season.
Trevor Knowles, a junior goalkeeper from Gahanna, Ohio, was also named to the All-Region Team for the second year in a row. The former Westerville North High School standout helped the team post 10 shutouts as he registered a 1.07 goals against average for the year.
Nels Radtke, a senior midfielder from Worthington, Ohio, joined Elifritz and Knowles on the All-Region Team. The former Worthington Christian High School product compiled six assists while starting all 22 matches for the team this year.
Matt Packard, a sophomore midfielder from Avon Lake, Ohio, was an NCCAA East Region Honorable Mention selection after scoring eight goals and posting six assists this season. The former All-Ohioan at Avon Lake High School also compiled 22 total points.
Jeremy Hilen, a sophomore defender from West Chester, Ohio, joined Packard as an NCCAA East Region Honorable Mention pick. The former Lakota East High School standout scored one goal and contributed eight assist this year for 10 total points.
MVNC finished the season with a 14-6-2 overall record. The Cougars advanced to the semifinals of the NAIA Region IX Tournament before falling to the University of Rio Grande, the eventual region champions.
