"MVNC's Rudd Earns Conference and Region Weekly Honors"

   Andrea Rudd, a member of the Mount Vernon Nazarene College women's volleyball team, was recently selected as the American Mideast Conference and the NAIA Region IX Setter of the Week for her performance during the week of October 16-22.

   Rudd, a 5-foot-9 junior from Wilmington, Ohio, led the Lady Cougars to a 2-2 record for the week. In a loss at NCAA Division II University of Findlay, the former All-Ohioan at Wilmington High School recorded three blocks, six digs, and 41 assists. In a loss to Malone College, Rudd contributed six kills, seven digs, and 38 assists. In a victory over Geneva (Pa.) College, she posted three aces, six digs, and 41 assists. She closed out the week with 13 digs and 41 assists in a win over Roberts Wesleyan (N.Y.) College.

   For the week, Rudd averaged 11.50 assists, 2.29 digs, .86 kills, .50 blocks, and .43 aces per game. She also posted a .969 serving percentage and a .313 attack percentage.

   For the season, Rudd leads the team with 1,227 assists. She has also recorded 21 aces, 65 blocks, 81 kills, and 293 digs.

   MVNC is currently 26-9 overall on the season and tied for first place in the AMC with a 10-1 conference mark. The Lady Cougars will return to action on Friday when the team will travel to Point Park (Pa.) College for an AMC match that is slated to begin at 6:00 p.m.
