Andrea Rudd, a member of the Mount Vernon Nazarene College women's volleyball team, has been selected as the National Christian College Athletic Association Setter of the Week for her performance during the week of September 25-October 1. This is the second week in a row that Rudd has earned a setter of the week award as she received the American Mideast Conference award last week.

Rudd, a 5-foot-9 junior setter from Wilmington, Ohio, led the Lady Cougars to a 2-0 record for the week. She began the week with 34 assists, 12 digs, and four kills in a straight-game conference victory over Urbana University. The former All-Ohioan at Wilmington High School closed out the week with 61 assists, 12 digs, five blocks, three kills, and two aces as MVNC upset Taylor (Ind.) University, ranked #15 in the NAIA, on their home court.

For the season, Rudd leads the team with 738 assists. She has also recorded 11 aces, 44 blocks, 52 kills, and 178 digs. She recently moved into fifth place on the Lady Cougars' career assists list with 1,843.

MVNC is currently 19-4 overall and ranked #20 in the latest NAIA national poll. The Lady Cougars are also in first place in the AMC with an 8-0 conference mark. The team will return to action this weekend when MVNC will take part in the two-day, six-team Indiana Wesleyan University Invitational in Marion, Indiana. The Lady Cougars will begin play in the tournament on Friday at 7:00 p.m. against Ohio Dominican College.
