
Josh Robson, a member of the Mount Vernon Nazarene College men's soccer team, recently earned Player of the Week honors from the American Mideast Conference and NAIA Region IX for his performance during the week of September 25-October 1.
Then, to top off the week, Robson was selected as the National Christian College Athletic Association and NAIA National Player of the Week as well. He becomes the first MVNC athlete to earn NAIA National Player of the Week honors in three separate seasons.
Robson, a senior forward from Mansfield, Ohio, recorded five goals during the week as the Cougars went 2-0. In a 5-1 victory at Point Park (Pa.) College, the former Madison High School star notched a hat trick with three goals. He closed out the week with two goals in a 4-1 win over Saint Vincent (Pa.) College.
For the season, Robson is tied for the team lead with 11 goals. He has also recorded seven assists. He has increased his school-record career goals total to 69 and his school-record career points total to 172.
MVNC is currently 9-3-0 overall and 5-1-0 in the AMC. The Cougars will return to action on Saturday when the team will travel to Shawnee State University for a conference match that is slated to kick off at 1:00 p.m.
