Josh Robson

For the second time this season, Josh Robson, a member of the Mount Vernon Nazarene College men's soccer team, has been selected as the American Mideast Conference Player of the Week. Robson was honored for his performance during the week of October 30-November 5.

Robson, a senior forward from Mansfield, Ohio, led the Cougars to a 3-2 overtime victory at Tiffin University in the quarterfinals of the NAIA Region IX Tournament. The former star at Madison High School twice erased a one-goal deficit as he scored two goals. The second goal came with less than six minutes remaining in the match as MVNC went on to post only its second win ever at Tiffin.

Robson now leads the team with 17 goals and 44 total points in 18 matches this season. He has also recorded 10 assists which ranks him second on the team in that category.

For his career, Robson now has 75 goals and 188 total points which are both school records. He is also nearing the top ten all-time in NAIA history in both categories.

The Cougars (14-5-1) will return to action on Friday at 2:00 p.m. when the team will square off with top-seeded Roberts Wesleyan (N.Y.) College in the semifinals of the NAIA Region IX Tournament in Rochester, New York. The tournament winner will receive an automatic berth in the NAIA National Tournament in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
