Sam RigglemanInducted during the 1998-1999 school yearSam Riggleman was one of MVNC’s finest coaches as he helped to put Cougar baseball on the map from 1980 to 1988. During his nine years at MVNC, he guided the Cougars to a 226-144 overall record and a .611 winning percentage. Riggleman took over the baseball program in its 12th year of existence after it had posted only 104 wins in its previous 11 seasons. He proceeded to win three Mid-Ohio Conference titles (1980, 1986, and 1988) and one NAIA District 22 title (1988) during his tenure. Riggleman was named the MOC Coach of the Year three times (1980, 1986, and 1988), the NAIA District 22 Coach of the Year three times (1980, 1985, and 1988), and the NAIA Area VI Coach of the Year in 1985. Riggleman also helped to get exposure for his players as he had four players drafted by major league teams including Tim Belcher (the #1 pick overall in the 1983 draft.)
