Jeana Howald

Inducted during the 1998-1999 school year

Jeana Howald was a three-sport standout in women’s basketball, volleyball, and tennis from 1977-1982. She was one of the first women to play all four years for each of these sports.

In basketball, Howald still ranks ninth in career field goals made (380) and tenth in career scoring (885 points). She also still holds the record for most shots taken in a game (30 vs. Mount Union College). In volleyball, Howald helped lead the team to the 1980 NAIA District 22 title. She was also selected to the NAIA District 22 team in 1981. In tennis, Howald played both singles and doubles. At the end of the 1981 season, she competed at the NAIA National Tournament in both singles and doubles.

Howald has also made her mark as a coach at MVNC. She guided the softball team to the 1993 NCCAA national invitational title and the women’s basketball team to the 1994 NCCAA national title.
