Chet ForakerInducted during the 1996-1997 school yearChet Foraker served as Mount Vernon Nazarene College's very first athletic director from 1968 to 1971. During that span, he also started the Cougars' first-ever men's basketball and baseball teams and served as the first coach. Before coming to MVNC, Foraker spent seven years as a teacher and coach at several public high schools and one year as a coach at Bluffton College. Following his three-year stint at MVNC, Foraker served as the athletic director and men's basketball coach at Trevecca Nazarene College. He led that team to a third-place finish at the National Christian College Tournament and was named the coach of the year in the Southern Christian Athletic Conference. Foraker also worked in the textbook sales and marketing field for several publishing companies for more than 25 years. Most recently, he served as the Southwest Regional vice president for McGraw-Hill.
