Jandi (Ferrell) SmailesInducted during the 1997-1998 school yearJandi (Ferrell) Smailes attended MVNC from 1985-89 during which time she was a very successful two-sport athlete. She was a four-year member of the women's volleyball team and a two-year member of the women's basketball team. As a member of the volleyball team, Smailes led the Lady Cougars to a 95-51 record during her career. She was a two-time team MVP, was named to the NAIA District 22 Team twice, and was the first player to receive NCCAA All-American honors in volleyball. She still ranks second in career blocks with 641. On the basketball court, Smailes was an All-Mid-Ohio Conference selection both years that she played. She led the team to a 33-14 record and the team's only MOC title. She still holds the career record for field goal percentage at 52.0 percent.
