Indoor Soccer Rules
1.
There
are two twenty minute halves with a continuous clock.
2.
There
are 5 players and a goal keeper on the court for each team.
3.
The
out-of-bounds is on the referee’s call.
4.
The
goal keeper can pick up the ball only inside of the three point
arch and can not throw it in the air past half court. If he
wants to throw the ball past half court, he must either bounce
or kick it.
5.
On
fouls, out of bounds, and hand balls, the ball is to be set down
and kicked in. No throw ins are allowed.
6.
There
will be a coin toss to determine which team will get the ball
first. The other
team will receive the ball first in the second half.
7.
There
is a penalty box for fouls. Fouls include: handballs, tripping,
pushing, checking, obstructing, language, and elbowing. Fouls
will result in a two minute penalty. Any player collecting three
fouls in one game will be ejected.
Players ejected for any reason will be forced to leave
the gym and that team will have to play minus one player. The
player must also sit out the next game.
8.
This
is an intramural activity. Any foul viewed by an official as
flagrant or malicious in nature will result in immediate
expulsion. Intramurals are designed to be fun and safe
activities for the students at MVNU. Any attempt to injure
another player will not be tolerated.
9.
All
penalty kicks are direct and all other free kicks are indirect.
10.
All
other rules are standard indoor soccer rules.
11.
No
more than 3 intercollegiate soccer players, based on the current
school year are permitted on one team.
12.
There
will be a limit of 12 players on a roster.
