Sivewright's
latest project is Gary Sivewright's FamilyWorks, an eight-hour seminar to
aid local churches in their ministry to the family. Focusing on
communication between parents and teens and parents and kids, Sivewright
uses interactive exercises to let families see the responsibilities they
have to each other to build a Christian home. As one childrens pastor said
after experiencing FamilyWorks, "You had us talk about things I knew I
should be asking my children, but never found the time." Though a
majority of FamilyWorks is spent working with families, time is also spent
showing the Church how it can be a support network for parents and their
children.
Dr.
Sivewright is a graduate of Southern Nazarene University, Nazarene
Theological Seminary, and earned his doctorate from George Peabody College
at Vanderbilt University. Gary and his wife, Carol, are the parents of two
grown children, Chad and Jason.
