Community Invited to Join MVNU for Annual Gazebo Concert

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - Mount Vernon Nazarene University will present the annual Gazebo Concert on Sunday, May 4, at 3 p.m. in the grove on the MVNU campus. The community is invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets and come enjoy this free event. The concert will be moved to the R.R. Hodges Chapel Auditorium in case of inclement weather.
The concert titled "Adventure!" will feature the MVNU Flute Choir and Symphonic Wind Ensemble. The Wind Ensemble, directed by Dr. John Packard, will perform action-filled repertoire including music from "The Wizard of Oz," John Williams' "The Cowboys," and an arrangement by Paul Lavender of Johan de Meij's "The Lord of the Rings" symphony. The clarinet section will also perform a feature piece during the concert. In addition, the Flute Choir, directed by Mrs. Jenny Packard, will present several selections from their repertoire.
Families are invited to bring their children for adventure-themed games and activities beginning at 2:30 p.m.
