MVNU RESTRUCTURES SENIOR LEADERSHIP
January 16, 2013
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio -- Mount Vernon Nazarene University announced a restructuring of its senior leadership team this afternoon, a move designed to increase efficiency and lower administrative costs for the coming fiscal year. MVNU President, Dr. Henry Spaulding II, informed the campus community of these changes, effective immediately, via email this morning.
Dr. Brock Schroeder has been named Vice President for Graduate and Professional Studies and Enrollment. This newly created position will unite both the academic and enrollment aspects of MVNU's GPS programs as well as the traditional undergraduate enrollment functions of the University. Prior to this assignment, Dr. Schroeder served as Associate Vice President for Graduate and Professional Studies and oversaw academic programing. Before arriving at MVNU, Dr. Schroeder served as the Vice President for Enrollment Management at Malone University in Canton, Ohio.
Rev. Scott Peterson, formerly MVNU's Chaplain, has been appointed Vice President for University Relations. In this capacity, Rev. Peterson will oversee MVNU's Development, Marketing, and Chaplaincy departments. As a part of this restructuring, Rev. Joe Noonen, formerly Assistant to the Chaplain for Mission and Ministry, will assume the role of Chaplain.
The University is also currently seeking an individual to fill the role of Vice President for Academic Affairs and Chief Academic Officer. Once hired, this individual will join Dr. Schroeder, Rev. Peterson, as well as current Vice President for Student Life, Dr. Lanette Sessink, and current Vice President for Financial Affairs and Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Jeff Spear, in making up MVNU's Senior Leadership Team.
"While change is often challenging," Dr. Spaulding explained, "I believe this reorganization will create the best possible environment in which Mount Vernon Nazarene University can thrive, both academically and financially, for the long term." Spaulding was elected as MVNU's seventh president on November 2, 2012.
