MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - The Mount Vernon Nazarene University Jazz Band will present their spring concert on Monday, April 29, at 7:30 p.m. in the R.R. Hodges Chapel/Auditorium. The community is invited to attend this free event.

The Mount Vernon Nazarene University Jazz Band will present their spring concert on Monday, April 29, at 7:30 p.m. in the R.R. Hodges Chapel/Auditorium. The community is invited to attend this free event.

The program will feature a variety of selections for the big band including "Woodchoppers Ball," "Swingin' Shepherd Blues," "Dahoud," and "Children of Sanchez." Vocalists Kasey Spang and Danielle Rebon will be featured on "Don't Know Why," and "Stormy Weather" respectively.

The Jazz Band, under the direction of Rick Brunetto, is one of seven instrumental ensembles at MVNU. The ensemble features music of the big band era up through the present. They perform their own fall and spring concerts and join with the other ensembles in various events. Members represent a variety of academic majors and denominational backgrounds.
