MVNU Names Robert Hamill to serve as Interim Vice President for Finance

MOUNT VERNON, OH - Mount Vernon Nazarene University has named Dr. Robert Hamill as Interim Vice President for Finance and Chief Financial Officer, a position he will formally assume on May 1, 2013. Previously, he has served as Professor of Business and Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Dr. Hamill has 24 years of experience in higher education, almost all of which have been spent at private, faith-based institutions. He has held numerous positions over that time as a faculty member and in a variety of administrative roles, including Department Chair, Assistant Dean, Associate Dean, Assistant Vice President, and Vice President. As Chief Financial Officer and Legal Counsel for Trine University, Dr. Hamill oversaw all financial, treasury, accounting, auditing, and legal matters, and provided leadership for Career Services and Human Resources. He also served as Assistant Vice President for Finance and Operations for the adult studies division at Indiana Wesleyan University, where he was responsible for personnel, financial, and operational matters.
Dr. Hamill holds a Ph.D. in Education Administration from Indiana State University as well as a J.D. from Vermont Law School. Prior to entering higher education, he worked as a staff accountant, tax attorney, internal auditor, and general practice attorney.
