Mount Vernon Nazarene University will celebrate the 20th Anniversary of its Graduate and Professional Studies program with an open-house reception at MVNU's Polaris site on April 22, from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. MVNU offered its first non-traditional degree completion program for working adults in 1993. In 1995, the Polaris site was opened. Graduates, students, former faculty, and area business leaders are invited to attend at the MVNU-Polaris site at 2000 Polaris Parkway, Suite 130. Light hors d'oeuvres will be served.

"We are excited to celebrate this tremendous milestone," said Dr. Brock Schroeder, Vice President for Graduate and Professional Studies and Enrollment at MVNU. "There are so many graduates of our non-traditional programs living and working in the greater Columbus area, we wanted to do something special for them while at the same time honoring the important contributions so many have made over the past two decades."

Over the past 20 years, MVNU's degree programs for working adults have undergone a number of change, both in name as well as in the number and variety of degree programs offered. MVNU's GPS program, formerly known as EXCELL and later as Adult and Graduate Studies (AGS), now offers a variety of degree programs for professionals and working adults both online and in-seat at several locations throughout Ohio. Columbus-area students can pursue bachelor degrees in Business and Social Work as well as master's degrees in Business Administration, Management, Education, and Ministry.

This summer, MVNU will open a new education site in the New Albany area, providing a larger, more flexible facility for the growing adult learning programs. Once completed, the new Columbus-New Albany site will replace two separate MVNU locations in Gahanna and Polaris.
