MVNU's Enactus (SIFE) Team Named Regional Champions

MOUNT VERNON, OH - On March 20, MVNU's Enactus (SIFE) team was named Regional Champions at regional competitions, earning the right to compete at the Enactus National Competition.
For the 28th time in 33 years, MVNU's Enactus (SIFE) team was named Regional Champions, earning the right to move on and compete at the Enactus Nationals in Kansas City during May. The competition took place in Charlotte, North Carolina, on March 20. This year's team included Chelsea Connor, Erin DeLong, Kristen Fisher, Bobby Hamill, Melissa Nabel, Allison Stechschulte, and Damon Yoder, under the direction of Wayne Yerxa and Sam Walton Fellow. To date, no other Enactus program in the country has had such consistent success as MVNU's Enactus program.
MVNU Enactus is one of the oldest and largest student organizations on campus. Our ultimate mission is to 'Change the World with the Love of Christ' by helping people achieve their dreams through free enterprise education. These lives are impacted through initiating positive change and building individual character. Our team of 30 members are involved in 9 various projects that are transforming lives throughout Knox county and other developing countries such as Belize and Haiti. Our 'Head for Business, Heart for the World' vision is helping mold and shape our world to a better and more sustainable place to live in.
According to the Enactus website, the nationals that MVNU will go on to compete at are, "Dramatic, energy-filled events where teams showcase the collective impact of their community outreach efforts. Students present their projects and are evaluated by business leaders serving as judges who rank them on how successful they were at using business concepts to improve the quality of life and standard of living for those in need. The winners of these national competitions are then invited to compete at the prestigious Enactus World Cup. In 2011, more than 33,000 attended these competitions where students presented a broad range of projects to nearly 4,600 judges."
