MOUNT VERNON NAZARENE UNIVERSITY READY TO OPEN COLUMBUS-NEW ALBANY SITE
May 30, 2013
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - Mount Vernon Nazarene University has nearly completed the construction of their new educational facility in New Albany. MVNU Columbus-New Albany, located in the Albany Park Office Building at 5150 East Dublin-Granville Road, is on schedule to open on July 1 and will serve Columbus-area adult and other non-traditional students seeking undergraduate and graduate degrees through MVNU's Graduate and Professional Studies program.
"This is an exciting addition to MVNU's family of educational sites throughout Ohio," said Brock Schroeder, Vice President for Graduate and Professional Studies and Enrollment at MVNU. "With more than 12,000-square-feet of classroom and office space, this new facility will really help us meet the needs of our growing adult learning programs in the greater Columbus region.
The Graduate and Professional Studies programs will occupy a first floor suite, with a scheduled opening on July 1, 2013. The suite will contain eight classrooms, four offices, two conference rooms, two serving kitchens, and an academic support services center. The entire space will be equipped with wireless and hardwired network capability. The teaching stations will be outfitted with the latest designs in standard teaching technology. Additionally, one of the classrooms is being designed with state-of-the-art video conferencing equipment to allow for instruction to occur to recipients anywhere in the world.
The location also offers easy access from all parts of Columbus, with the Mount Vernon Nazarene University logo easily visible from Route 161.
MVNU currently offers a variety of degree programs for professionals and working adults both online and in-seat at several locations throughout Ohio. Columbus-area students can pursue bachelor degrees in Business and Social Work as well as master's degrees in Business Administration, Management, Education, and Ministry. Once completed, the new Columbus-New Albany site will replace two separate MVNU locations in Gahanna and Polaris. Students currently taking classes at those locations will continue to do so while the new site is readied, and MVNU is working with individual students to create a smooth and seamless transition.
"I am looking forward to connecting with the many great businesses and organizations in the New Albany area in the coming months. Our goal is to be an engaged and vital partner in the local community for many, many years."
