MVNU to Host Boesger Business Ethics Symposium

MOUNT VERNON, OH - Mount Vernon Nazarene University's Jetter School of Business will host the spring Boesger Business Ethics Symposium on Friday, April 12, 2013, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the Jetter School of Business, Room 133.
Melanie (Brown) Miller, a 1993 graduate of MVNU, will be the featured speaker at the spring symposium. Melanie is currently an Associate Vice President for Nationwide Financial, which is a division of Nationwide Insurance, a Fortune 100 company headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. She has been employed with Nationwide for 19 years and has served the company in various roles including annuities, life insurance, and retirement plans. She has spent the last 13 years in leadership roles for the organization and is currently leading a multi-year strategy to grow Nationwide's private sector retirement plans business by focusing on a new target market. Melanie earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Mount Vernon Nazarene University and holds FINRA Series 6 and 26 licenses. Over the years, she has been involved with various committees and conferences with her peers in the financial services industry. Melanie and her husband are also co-owners of Miller & Brown Enterprises, LLC, a rental property company. Melanie resides in Hilliard, Ohio with her husband of 17 years, Steve Miller, and their children, Olivia (14) and Alexander (11). The family attends Northwest Bible Church in Hilliard, Ohio.
The goal of the symposium is to introduce the MVNU community to Christian business leaders who have successfully led organizations with ethics and excellence. The symposium has been made possible by a generous endowment from Len and Betty Boesger. Prior to retirement, Mr. Boesger successfully developed and led companies in a variety of fields. A member of the National Association of Corporate Directors, Mr. Boesger also served on a number of for-profit and non-profit boards, including MVNU's Foundation Board, of which he was the chair.
