MVNU presents "The Miracle Worker"
October 31, 2011
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio -- The Mount Vernon Nazarene University drama department will present "The Miracle Worker" on Thursday and Friday, November 3-4, at 8 p.m., and on Saturday, November 12, at 1 and 8 p.m. The performance will bring to life the true story of Helen Keller, and the remarkable woman who taught her to overcome her challenges, Anne Sullivan.
The play features Annelise Mason as Annie Sullivan and Alyssa Clary as Helen Keller. Director Daniel P. Turner said of the production, "Imagine a life without sound, without sight, without the ability to communicate even the smallest of your needs and desires. This was the future that Helen Keller faced until Anne Sullivan came into her life. It has been a personal joy to me to watch this extremely talented cast struggle to bring to life once again on this stage the strength and nobility of spirit of Anne Sullivan and the Keller clan."
Tickets for "The Miracle Worker" are $6 and can be purchased in advance by calling (740) 397-9000, extension 1620. Donations for Food For the Hungry will also be accepted at this event.
