January 30, 2012
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio -- Mount Vernon Nazarene University's Schnormeier Gallery, located in historic downtown Mount Vernon's Buchwald Center, will feature artist and Dennison associate professor Abram Kaplan his Ohio landscape photography. Opening February 3, the exhibit will be displayed until March 10. A reception will be held on Friday, February 3, from 6-9 p.m. and will be free and open to the public.
This exhibit, entitled "Fine Grain: Visual Immersion in the American Food System," sets out to pair Kaplan's photography with a 3-D visual experience. Featuring a 16-foot-wide ring, which displays the artist's panoramic photography, and a 14-foot crafted silo, the 12 installments make for a fascinating and original presentation of the American food industry. You can get a sneak peek at Kaplan's exhibit in this video from Denison University.
