MVNU prepares for busy Homecoming weekend

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio -- Hundreds of alumni, friends, and other guests are expected on the campus of Mount Vernon Nazarene University for Homecoming, beginning Friday, Nov. 11, and running through Saturday, Nov. 12.

Highlighting this year's homecoming festivities will be a special concert, featuring the artists Building 429, Leeland, and Royal Tailor, and celebrating the 25th Anniversary for Knox County's hometown Christian music station, WNZR 90.9 FM. The Sounds of Hope concert will take place on Friday, Nov. 11, at 8 p.m. in the R.R. Hodges Chapel Auditorium on the MVNU campus. Tickets can be purchased at Gospel Supply Shop, MVNU Cougar Corner Bookstore, or online through iTickets.com.

A variety of additional activities will fill this special weekend. Saturday's events will include both the men's and women's basketball games, the coronation of the Homecoming Queen, and the fall play "The Miracle Worker." As always, there will also be a number of class and affinity reunions.

Another returning tradition is the annual 5K run which will benefit Knox County's Food for the Hungry. Canned goods and monetary donations will be collected on race day, which will be Saturday, Nov. 12. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. at MVNU. For more information, visit homecoming.mvnu.edu.
