Schnormeier Gallery to Feature Former MVNU Professor and Artist Jim Hendrickx
March 1, 2012
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio-- Jim Hendrickx, a local artist and long-time faculty member at Mount Vernon Nazarene University, will be featured in MVNU's Schnormeier Gallery from March 16 until April 18, 2012. Both the exhibit and a special reception on Friday, March 30, from 6-9 p.m., are free and open to the public.
The exhibit covers more than 40 years of Hendrickx's work and features a variety of mediums including construction pieces and watercolors. "The show really encapsulates the influences on my life at different times and in different contexts-- much of it during my time at MVNU," said Hendrickx, who retired in 2011. "It definitely reflects a spiritual element, although often more abstractly than figuratively."
