Community invited to join MVNU for Fall Music Scholarship Recital

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – Mount Vernon Nazarene University will present some of the 2011-2012 music scholarship recipients in recital on Thursday, October 6, at 7:30 p.m. The recital will take place in Thorne Performance Hall in the R.R. Hodges Chapel/Fine Arts Building, and a reception will follow. The community is invited to attend this free event.
The concert will feature several instrumental and vocal performances and will include a wide variety of musical styles. The participants are:
Allison DeSimone is a junior music education major from Marion, OH. She studies saxophone with Mrs. Susan O’Rourke and participates in Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Chamber Winds, and Treble Singers Women’s Choir.
Kendra Gibbs is a junior music performance major from Washington, WV. She studies voice with Mrs. Elizabeth Barrett and sings with Collegians Chorale.
Katie Hepner is a senior graphic design and general music major from Bucyrus, OH. She studies voice with Mrs. Virginia Cameron and participates in Collegians Chorale and Symphonic Wind Ensemble.
Jennifer Krell is a senior church music major from Mifflinburg, PA. She studies voice with Mrs. Virginia Cameron and sings in Treble Singers Women’s Choir, Goliards Chamber Ensemble and Music Stage Production. She also participates in Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Chamber Winds.
Marjorie Lohnes is a junior early childhood education & intervention specialist major from Wooster, OH. She studies voice with Dr. Carolyn Redman and sings with Collegians Chorale.
Jennifer McCord is a senior music performance major from Bryan, OH. She studies guitar with Mr. Andrej Mentschukoff and sings in Collegians Chorale.
David Petersen is a junior theological studies major/music minor from Mansfield, OH. He studies voice with Dr. Carolyn Redman and sings with Collegians Chorale.
Andrew Pugh is a senior music education and music performance major from Mansfield, OH. He studies voice with Mrs. Virginia Cameron and participates in Collegians Chorale, Music Stage Production, and Jazz Band.
Leah Ralston is a senior church music major from Harrison, OH. She studies voice with Mrs. Virginia Cameron and sings in Collegians Chorale, Goliards Chamber Ensemble, and Music Stage Production. She also plays percussion in Symphonic Wind Ensemble.
Mark Rednour is a junior marketing major/music minor from Strongsville, OH. He studies alto saxophone with Dr. Susan O’Rourke and participates in Jazz Band.
Cody Thomas is a junior music education major from Lizemores, WV. He studies tuba with Mr. Joel Shonkwiler and voice with Mrs. Elizabeth Barrett. He participates in Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Chamber Winds, Collegians Chorale, Goliards Chamber Ensemble, Music Stage Production, and chapel Praise Team.
McKenzie Vaughn is a sophomore music education major from Westerville, OH. She studies trumpet with Dr. John Packard and participates in Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Chamber Winds, Collegians Chorale, and Music Stage Production.
Michael Weaver is a senior church music major from Gahanna, OH. He studies trombone with Mr. Joel Shonkwiler and participates in Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Chamber Winds, Jazz Band, and Pep Band.
