February 12, 2010
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio -- WNZR, 90.9 FM, a broadcast ministry of Mount Vernon Nazarene University, presents its 12th annual Valentine's Banquet on Friday, Feb. 12, at 7 p.m. in the President's Dining Room located in the Hyson Campus Center on the MVNU campus.
This year’s theme is “Making Love Last a Lifetime” and will feature great love stories, music, a buffet dinner and prizes. Joe and Marcy Rinehart will host a panel of several local couples as they share secrets to a build a strong marriage.
Special music entertainment will be provided by 14-year-old harpist Brienna Maners. She began her musical career at the age of 5 in a group class that studied piano, rhythm and music theory. She currently studies harp with Janet Thompson from Kenyon College. Maners plays a lever harp that was handmade by a renowned musician from Colorado. She has played for the Mount Vernon Christmas Walk, Food for the Hungry and in several concerts in the Knox County community. WNZR DJs will provide a special musical ensemble of classic love songs during the program.
"Our staff is excited about this year’s theme,” said Station Manager Marcy Rinehart. “We believe that there is a battle going on in many homes today. According to www.divorcestatistics.org, 45-50 percent of marriages in America end in divorce. We want to share some biblical principles and practical advice on how to strengthen our relationships and build stronger families in our community. Our staff hopes that this event will combine fun and entertainment with tools to help make love last a lifetime.”
