G.K. Chesterton brought to life at MVNU

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – Educator and entertainer, Dr. John “Chuck” Chalberg will perform for MVNU’s Lecture/Artist Series on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 in the R.R. Hodges Chapel/Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Chalberg brings to life on stage several important historical figures and will portray G.K. Chesterton at MVNU.

The event is free and open to the public.

Chalberg currently teaches at Normandale Community College while also traveling the country performing his portrayals of several historical figures including Teddy Roosevelt, H.L. Mencken, George Orwell, baseball’s Branch Rickey, G.K. Chesterton, Huey Long, Patrick Henry and golf’s Bobby Jones.

G.K. Chesterton was a prominent writer and journalist from the early 20th century. One of the most influential writers on the topic of Christian apologetics, Chesterton wrote hundreds of books and poems. He also wrote five plays, five novels, many short stories, and over 30 years’ worth of newspaper columns.

Christian Meeting and Convention Association named Chalberg a recommended speaker and has been the featured resource in Cross Ties of fall 2006. .He has also written a biography of Emma Goldman and a dual biography of Branch Rickey and Jackie Robinson.
