Jacobs’ professional music career began as a songwriter and guitarist in Nashville, Tenn. After years of moderate success, he left to pursue other interests. A personal and artistic re-birth eventually led him back to music.

His debut solo CD, “Sacred Nation,” received the 2003 Native American Music Award for Best Independent Recording. His follow-up, “They Come Dancing,” was nominated in 2004. “The Journey,” Michael’s third CD, received a 2006 Indian Summer Music Award, and was nominated for a 2006 Just Plain Folks Award and two 2007 Native American Music Awards. His album, “Mystery,” covers topics from the environment and politics to the ecstasy and agony of life and relationships.

His brand new CD, "Chasing The Wind," is now available. Beginning with his insightful, profound lyrics and catchy pop/rock melodies, Jacobs and talented up-and-coming Nashville producer/engineer Daniel Dennis have crafted a polished and powerful music statement. According to his Web site, “This is music that you will certainly enjoy and that may even nourish your soul.”

Jacobs says he is not interested simply in educating people about Native American culture or “Native” issues, but his songs address human issues. His music soothes, encourages and challenges listeners. His blend of Native American and American “roots” music, a mixture of pop, rock and folk, artfully fuses contemporary and traditional sounds and powerful imagery.

He is a member of the Recording Academy and the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. As an accomplished musician, writing great songs remains his sole desire and fuels his ambition.
