Gahanna pastor to speak at Prayer Lecture Series

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio -- Mount Vernon Nazarene University welcomes Sam Barber as a special guest speaker for the Estep Prayer Lecture Series Wednesday through Friday, Nov. 4-6.

Services will be 10:20 a.m. Wednesday through Friday, and 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday, held in the R.R. Hodges Chapel/Auditorium.

Barber is the senior pastor at Shepherd Church of the Nazarene in Gahanna, Ohio. He is a 1989 graduate of MVNU with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. He also holds a Master of Arts in Christian Ministries and Church Leadership from Malone University and a Master of Theological Studies from Duke University. He says he enjoys preaching and finding creative ways to engage the community and culture in the things of God.

Barber describes his passions as discipleship, family and motorcycles—in that order. He and his wife of 19 years, Jill, have one child, Ross, who is a high school junior.
