Women’s choir and seniors host concert

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio -- Treble Singers Women’s Choir, a choral ensemble of Mount Vernon Nazarene University, will be in concert on Tuesday, May 5, at 8 p.m. in Thorne Performance Hall in the R.R. Hodges Chapel/Fine Arts Building.
Senior music students will also perform and be recognized at the event, which is free and open to the public.
The Treble Singers Women's Choir, directed by Dr. Stanley Wood, is one of the three choral ensembles at MVNU. This select women’s choir will present musical selections from their recent spring tour including "Didn't My Lord Deliver Daniel," "Wondrous Love" (as recorded by Anonymous Four), Jackson Berkey's "Gloria in Excelsis Deo" and Howard Helvey's "Saints Bound for Heaven."
In addition, the spring program will feature Katie Miller, senior accompanist, and Sarah Blowers, French horn, with the choir in "Life has Loveliness to Sell." Oboist Hannah Fulton will accompany "There Is No Rose," by Z. Randall Stroope. They will also present "In Christ Alone," orchestrated for wind instruments by Jeff McRill, a 2008 MVNU graduate. Senior Treble Singers honored at the concert are Emma Campbell, Stacey Kibler, Katie Miller and Lindsey Norris.
Senior music majors who will be featured in the concert are Joshua Baker (voice), Aimee Erickson (trumpet), Samantha Keene (clarinet), Katie Miller (piano), Lindsey Norris (clarinet), Nathan Smith (guitar) and Audra Wiggins (voice).
