March offers chance to support Knox County’s Christian radio station
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio -- WNZR 90.9FM, a broadcast ministry of Mount Vernon Nazarene University, is preparing for Lifeline 2008.
This annual fundraising effort is an opportunity for the community of Knox County to pledge their support to WNZR.
This year’s goal is $60,000 and the theme focuses on three statements. “This is the time. Catch the Vision. Join the Journey.” Lifeline 2008 will start on Wednesday, March 5, and run through Saturday, March 8.
Students Say
"Working for WNZR has been a rewarding and gratifying experience,” said Beth Wagner, junior broadcasting major and co-host of WNZR’s The Morning Thing. “I am able to see God working every day in ways that are unimaginable. Our listeners are a part of that experience and I want to thank them for trusting in God’s plan for WNZR.”
Tyler Boss, senior broadcasting major also serves as a co-host of WNZR’s morning show. He says, “WNZR has been an amazing experience for me. This station has taught me so much about the broadcast industry and has prepared me for my future career. This experience has also taught me how to be a true disciple for Jesus in radio and use my talents for His glory.”
Day of Prayer and Praise
Wednesday, March 5, is WNZR’s annual “Day of Prayer and Praise.” From 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., the staff will focus on how God has provided for WNZR over the past year. To kick off the event, the WNZR staff will host a Sunrise Prayer and Praise service at Thorne Performance Hall on MVNU’s campus on Wednesday, March 5, from 7 to 8 a.m. Prayer will be led by community leaders, MVNU campus representatives and WNZR staff and listeners. The public is invited to join WNZR for this event, which will also include praise and worship music.
Listeners are encouraged to call the station throughout the annual “Day of Prayer and Praise” to share personal testimonies, prayer requests and praise reports. Those interested may also phone the WNZR studios in advance to schedule a specific time to share their testimonies.
